Ingredients

  • 500 grams (about 4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (7 grams) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warm
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup filling (such as jam, Nutella, or cheese)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs.

Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Shape the Kiflice

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls (about 30 grams each).

Roll each ball into a small circle. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center, then fold the dough over and roll it up into a crescent shape.

Bake

Place the kiflice on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cool and Serve

Allow the kiflice to cool on a wire rack before serving.
