Add the egg and half of the milk, and whisk until smooth.
Gradually add the remaining milk, whisking continuously until you have a smooth batter.
Peel and grate the potatoes using a coarse grater.
Squeeze out any excess liquid from the grated potatoes and add them to the batter. Mix well to combine.
Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of butter.
Once the butter is melted and hot, add a spoonful of the potato batter to the pan, spreading it out into a thin pancake.
Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the pancake is golden brown and crispy.
Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
