In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and chopped cilantro.
Add the ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, ground black pepper, and salt.
Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Add the beaten egg and breadcrumbs (if using) to the meat mixture. Mix until the egg and breadcrumbs are fully incorporated. This will help bind the mixture together.
With damp hands, take small portions of the meat mixture and shape them into small balls or ovals, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Place the shaped kofta on a plate or tray.
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
Add the kofta to the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to cook them in batches.
Fry the kofta for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
Remove the cooked kofta from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Enjoy your meal!
