  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Make a well in the center and add the water and olive oil.

Mix until the dough starts to come together, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Shape the Piadina

Divide the dough into 6-8 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a thin, round flatbread, about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.

Cook the Piadina

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

Place a dough round in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned and cooked through.

Repeat with the remaining dough.
