Ingredients

  • For the Base:
  • 1 cup shaved ice
  • 1/4 cup sweetened red beans
  • 1/4 cup sweetened garbanzo beans
  • 1/4 cup sweetened plantains, sliced
  • 1/4 cup jackfruit, sliced
  • 1/4 cup nata de coco (coconut gel)
  • 1/4 cup leche flan (caramel flan), sliced or cubed
  • 1/4 cup ube (purple yam) jam or sweetened ube
  • For the Topping:
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted rice flakes or crushed peanuts (optional, for crunch)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients

Arrange the sweetened red beans, sweetened garbanzo beans, sweetened plantains, jackfruit, nata de coco, leche flan, and ube in separate bowls or containers.

Shave the ice if not already pre-shaved.

Assemble the Halo-Halo

In a large glass or bowl, add a layer of shaved ice at the bottom.

Add a layer of each sweetened ingredient, arranging them in the order you prefer. You can mix and match to your liking or layer them individually.

Pour the evaporated milk and condensed milk over the top of the layered ingredients.

Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if using.

Garnish with toasted rice flakes or crushed peanuts, if desired.

Serve

Mix all the ingredients together just before eating to blend the flavors and textures.
