Peel the plantains and cut them into halves or thirds, depending on their size.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you’re using a charcoal grill, let the coals burn until they are covered with a white ash.
Brush the plantains with vegetable oil and season with salt and optional ground pepper or other seasoning.
Place the plantains on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the plantains are golden brown and have grill marks. The plantains should be tender and slightly caramelized.
Remove the plantains from the grill and let them cool slightly. Serve warm as a side dish or snack.
