Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semolina flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups water (adjust as needed)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter
  • Honey or date syrup, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina flour, and salt.

Add Water

Gradually add water to the flour mixture, stirring continuously to form a smooth batter. The consistency should be somewhat thick but pourable.

Cook the Mixture

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil or butter over medium heat. Pour in the batter and cook, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.

Stir Until Thickened

Cook the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pot. Stir frequently to ensure even cooking.

Serve

Transfer the Asida to a serving dish. Create a well in the center and drizzle with honey or date syrup.

Garnish with additional honey or date syrup if desired.
