Ingredients

  • 2 large kumala (sweet potatoes), peeled and cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Kumala

Peel and cut the kumala into chunks.

Cook the Kumala

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the kumala chunks and cook, stirring occasionally, until they start to brown, about 10 minutes.

Add Spices

Stir in the ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, and paprika. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the kumala is tender and coated with the spices.

Season and Serve

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
